We were approached by St Andrew’s School, Sheffield to assist them in upgrading their existing steam cooker and sterilizing sink for a combi oven and dishwash system. Indeed, these are both typical examples of the type of common work we undertake for schools with the reason being improved energy efficiency.
A lot of schools still use archaic steamers for cooking and sterilizing sinks for dishwashing. The problem with both these is that they use a lot of energy and are laborious.
The new combination oven steamers use far less energy than the old-fashioned steamers and cook a greater volume of food quicker and with a greater nutritional value. Likewise, a new dishwash system will sterilize the same volume of crockery far quicker and with far less energy than an old-fashioned sterilizing sink.
The difficulty often faced by schools in making the switch is with the existing M&E services and associated ventilation regulations. Fox not only supply and install the equipment but we also organize all the necessary M&E services alterations and upgrades to facilitate the new equipment.
Attached are some images of a recently installed combi oven with its own ventilation hood and a dishwasher system.
